John-F-King

John F. King, also known as Jack, is an attorney with King Law Offices. Jack works in the firm’s Haywood County office located in Waynesville, North Carolina. Jack’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, family law, and personal injury. He began his career in 1983 in Ohio, primarily focused on medical and legal malpractice, automobile negligence, aviation, business, and employment litigation, trying over 100 civil jury cases. He was the first lawyer in the world to make a successful recovery against Boeing Defense Space and Security and Bell Helicopter as a result of a crash of the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor military aircraft.

He set, and held, judgment/verdict records for:

  • The State of Ohio for the highest fully collected judgment in a single injury medical malpractice case, 23+ million-dollars.
  • Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) for the largest dram shop/liquor liability verdict with a 1.9+ million-dollar verdict.

Additionally, Mr. King recovered million/multi-million-dollar settlements for:

  • A victim of a surgical fire in Youngstown, Ohio.
  • For victims of the USAir Flight 427 crash outside of Pittsburgh.
  • For victims of the EgyptAir Flight 990 off of Nantucket, Massachusetts.
  • Multiple auto accident victims.

He was selected by the Probate Court of Cuyahoga County, Ohio in multiple legal malpractice claims arising form theft from fiduciary/estate accounts by attorneys.

He also advised and represented a Cleveland, Ohio National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) agent regarding multiple NFL player contracts and endorsement deals, and related litigation.

Mr. King is a certified North Carolina Superior Court Mediator and former Guardian ad Litem.

His experience spans five decades and has depth and breadth of experience matched by few.

In addition to North Carolina, Mr. King has been admitted to the bar in the state of Ohio, the District of Columbia, the United States District Court of the Northern District of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeal for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court of the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has appeared pro hac vice in courts in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

Jack and his wife Robin reside in Haywood County, North Carolina, and enjoy spending time with their adult children and grandchildren who live in Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and Los Angeles, California.
