Martie Wallace
Junior Partner
Primary Practice Areas: Estate Planning and Administration and Elder Law
Martha “Martie” Wallace is a Junior Partner with the King Law team and serves clients in Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cabarrus, Gaston, and Lincoln Counties. Martie’s practice focuses primarily on transactional law such as drafting wills and trusts, probating estates, adult guardianship, adoptions (child and adult), name changes, and other non-litigation types of law. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the firm’s Transactional Law Practice Area Group.
Martie exhibits compassion for her clients. Often clients who are seeking an attorney to probate an estate or file for adult guardianship are grieving the loss of a loved one or processing a loved one’s inability to make health and financial decisions for themselves. Martie strongly believes that representing clients with these types of legal issues requires an attorney who realizes the emotional toll these circumstances may have on some people. She strives to achieve her client’s legal goals while understanding not all people process grief equally, requiring a more customized approach, if feasible.
Martie graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in public health education and made her career in healthcare. After making a career change, Martie graduated from Liberty University School of Law and is licensed in North Carolina.
As much as Martie loves being an attorney, her favorite title is Mom and Oma. Martie adores her grown children, Hannah, Cameron, and Cameron’s precious wife, Alex.
Martie lives in Cornelius, North Carolina with her adorable dog, Deacon and is Oma to her grandbaby, Leonard, a goofy Great Dane. Martie’s free time includes paddle boarding on Lake Norman, golfing, biking, and pretty much anything she can do with Deacon and her kiddos.
