Joseph Matherly is an Associate Attorney at King Law Offices. He works in the firm’s Washington County office in Jonesborough, Tennessee. He is licensed in Tennessee and Virginia. Joseph’s primary area of practice is Family Law focusing on a wide variety of areas which include, but are not limited to, divorce, spousal support, child custody, termination of parental rights, orders of protection, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Additionally, Joseph has experience practicing criminal law, landlord-tenant, and general civil litigation.
Joseph is a Johnson City native who has spent his entire legal career serving the tri cities and surrounding areas. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Milligan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. While attending law school, Joseph was co-chair of the Homeless Project, which provided pro bono legal advice to indigent persons.
Joseph and his wife, Kalin live in Elizabethton, Tennessee. They have an infant son and a golden retriever and are currently expecting twins. Joseph is a former collegiate golfer and valedictorian of his high school class. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys attending church, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family.
