King Law is proud to welcome its most geographically diverse class of Summer Law Clerks to date. Representing 13 law schools from across the country, this year’s group will be working in King Law offices located throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and—for the first time—Tennessee.
While smaller in number, the 2025 class extends farther in distance than ever before, with students joining from as far as Oregon, Mississippi, and Vermont. The Summer Law Clerk Program continues to serve as a dynamic launching pad for aspiring attorneys and future firm leaders. Many past clerks have returned to King Law to grow their careers, with several advancing to associate, partner, and even ownership roles.
The program was first established in the early 2000s, with now-firm owner John Crotts serving as the inaugural intern. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of the firm’s commitment to professional development, legal mentorship, and investing in the future of the legal field.
This immersive, hands-on experience provides law students with valuable exposure to the real-world practice of law, including:
• Hands-on client interaction
• Courtroom observation
• Work in family law, civil litigation, estate planning, and criminal defense
• One-on-one mentorship from experienced attorneys across multiple states
