Teachers spend the school year helping students prepare for what comes next. This summer, King Law is helping educators do the same for themselves.
King Law is proud to announce a Free Wills Clinic for Teachers taking place on June 24, 2026, at select office locations throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. As a gesture of appreciation for the dedication, service, and impact teachers make in their communities, King Law will provide a complimentary Last Will and Testament to participating educators.
The clinic will be offered at King Law offices in Asheville, Hendersonville, Forest City , Marion, Shelby, Cornelius, King, Raleigh, and Greer, with up to 15 appointment slots available at each location.
“Teachers invest countless hours helping others build successful futures,” said Anna Kegley-Shelton, Chair of King Law’s Legacy Law Practice Group. “We wanted to give back by helping educators take an important step toward protecting their families and creating peace of mind. Estate planning is one of the greatest gifts you can leave your loved ones, and we’re honored to offer this opportunity to those who give so much to our communities.”
Participants will meet with King Law’s estate planning team during a scheduled 30-minute appointment and will leave with a professionally prepared Last Will and Testament at no cost.
Teachers who wish to participate must reserve an appointment and select a time slot through King Law’s online scheduling system. After booking, participants will receive a questionnaire and instructions regarding the information needed to prepare their estate planning documents.
To ensure documents are ready for signing on June 24, all requested information and completed questionnaires must be returned to King Law no later than June 17, 2026.
In addition to the complimentary will, participants may choose to add additional estate planning documents at reduced rates:
- Will for spouse: $300
- Healthcare Power of Attorney: $50
- Durable General Power of Attorney: $50
These optional services are available for both teachers and their spouses and can be selected during the appointment scheduling process.
While many people assume estate planning is only necessary later in life, a will provides important protection for individuals and families of all ages. It allows a person to express their wishes, protect loved ones, appoint guardians for minor children, and simplify matters for family members during difficult times.
King Law encourages teachers to take advantage of the summer break to complete this important planning step. Appointment availability is limited, and participation will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Teachers interested in participating can reserve their appointment through the online scheduling link: Schedule Appointment with King Law Offices.
At King Law, we believe those who dedicate their careers to educating future generations deserve the opportunity to protect their own. This summer, we’re proud to support the teachers who support our communities every day.
