King Law 2026 Summer Law Clerk Program

27 law students. 14 law schools. 3 states. King Law is proud to welcome the class of 2026.

Each summer, King Law opens its doors to the next generation of legal talent and this year’s class is one to be proud of. Twenty-seven students from 14 law schools across the country are spending their summer embedded in King Law offices throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, working real cases alongside experienced attorneys from day one.

The Summer Law Clerk Program dates back to the early 2000s, when now-partner John Crotts walked through those same doors as the firm’s very first intern. What started with a single student has grown into one of King Law’s most defining traditions, a pipeline that has produced associates, partners, and owners now leading offices across the firm’s 25+ locations.

About King Law

King Law Offices was founded in 2002 on a belief that where you live shouldn’t determine the quality of legal representation you can access. What started as a single office in the small towns of Western North Carolina has grown into a firm with more than 25 offices across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, built one community relationship at a time.

That belief is captured in everything King Law does: Small Towns. Big Relationships.

King Law has always believed that the best firms aren’t just built from the outside in, they’re grown from within. The firm has made a deliberate, long-standing investment in the next generation of legal talent, and the results speak for themselves. Attorneys like Rusty Duncan and Frank McFarland started their legal careers as interns right here at King Law learning the firm’s culture, its clients, and its communities from day one. Today they lead it. They are proof that King Law doesn’t just hire attorneys; it builds careers.

The Summer Law Clerk Program is where that investment begins. Every summer, King Law opens its doors to law students who are willing to work hard, learn fast, and serve real clients in real communities.
