Area of Focus
Kimberly Mullinax has been part of King Law since its earliest years, joining the firm in September 2002. During more than two decades with the firm, she has experienced King Law’s growth firsthand and has served in nearly every area of the business outside of practicing law. That breadth of experience has given her a unique understanding of both the legal profession and the people, processes, and infrastructure required to operate and grow a law firm.
Professional Background
Kimberly is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a minor in Sociology in 2004. She later completed the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program at Duke University and passed the North Carolina State Bar Paralegal Certification Exam in 2010. She continues to maintain her North Carolina Certified Paralegal designation.
Earlier in her career, Kimberly gained extensive experience supporting legal matters involving family law, civil litigation, tax foreclosure, and real estate. Although she no longer works directly on client cases, that experience continues to shape her understanding of law firm operations and the needs of attorneys, legal professionals, staff, and clients.
Today, Kimberly serves as General Manager of King Law, based at the firm’s headquarters in Forest City, North Carolina. Her role is focused on the business of the firm, with responsibility for firm operations, strategic growth, and organizational and operational development across King Law’s growing footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Kimberly brings an institutional perspective to the firm’s leadership team that spans virtually every stage of its growth. She works hand in hand with the firm’s shareholders and Board of Directors to help translate long-term vision and strategic goals into practical initiatives, systems, and processes that can be implemented across the firm.
Kimberly also partners closely with the leaders of King Law’s administrative departments, including marketing, facilities, finance and accounting, human resources, training and development, technology, and client intake and engagement. Her work frequently crosses departmental lines, with an emphasis on ensuring the firm’s people, technology, processes, and resources remain aligned as King Law continues to grow.
A significant part of Kimberly’s role involves helping lead and support the firm’s strategic growth initiatives. This includes operational planning for new markets and office locations, evaluating and implementing technology, developing scalable processes, improving the client experience, supporting leadership development, and identifying opportunities to operate more efficiently across multiple offices and states.
After more than two decades with King Law, Kimberly remains focused on what comes next: strengthening the firm’s operations, developing its people and leaders, and helping position King Law for thoughtful, sustainable growth.
Community & Personal Life
Kimberly lives in Forest City, North Carolina, with her husband, Frankie, and their daughter, Karley. She and Frankie also co-own Creative Motorsports, Inc.
Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys traveling and making memories with her family. Alaska remains her favorite trip to date, although she readily admits that warm weather and a beach are usually more her style. She is also a regular at MotoAmerica, Supercross and Motocross events and enjoys attending country music concerts.
At home, Kimberly and her family are joined by their two golden retrievers, Maple and Oliver, and two dachshunds, Griffin and Tanner.
