Brian King is a trial attorney, personal injury advocate, and the founder and managing shareholder of King Law, one of the largest and fastest-growing law firms in the Southeast. Since opening the firm in 2002 in a modest two-room office above a bar, Brian has built King Law into a multi-state practice serving clients across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. His vision from the start was to create a law firm grounded in strong business principles while delivering aggressive, client-centered representation, particularly for individuals injured by the negligence of others.

Brian is licensed to practice in North Carolina and South Carolina and is admitted to multiple federal courts. In 2009, he became a North Carolina Board-Certified Family Law Specialist, a distinction held by only a small percentage of attorneys in the state. His diverse litigation background, including high-conflict family trials, civil jury trials, and appellate advocacy, gives him a strategic advantage when navigating the complex medical, financial, and evidentiary issues that arise in serious injury cases.

Earlier in his career, Brian served as attorney for both the Rutherford County and McDowell County Departments of Social Services, gaining significant courtroom experience through contested evidentiary hearings. He has litigated matters before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, securing published opinions that continue to guide trial courts today. Those experiences helped shape the disciplined, trial-first mindset that now drives King Law’s personal injury division.

Brian is a nationally recognized speaker on trial advocacy, personal injury strategy, and law firm leadership. He regularly teaches Continuing Legal Education courses on jury selection, cross-examination of medical experts, proving damages, and maximizing case value. He also serves as a Trial Advocacy Professor and leads King Law University, the firm’s internal training program designed to prepare the next generation of trial lawyers. Under his mentorship, dozens of attorneys have developed the skills necessary to confidently represent injured clients in the courtroom.

Brian is also an emerging voice on the intersection of artificial intelligence and the legal profession. He has authored a book on the practical application of AI in modern law practice and contributed a chapter to the National Business Institute Litigator series focused on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in litigation strategy, case management, and trial preparation. A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, North Carolina, Brian continues to invest in the same community where he was raised and where he first began representing injured neighbors and working families. Outside the courtroom, Brian is the proud father of Luke and Caroline, a UNCA Bulldog and a UNC Tarheel.
