Justin Ray is a Shareholder with King Law Offices, licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Tennessee and serving clients throughout Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. As Chair of King Law’s Civil Litigation Department, he represents individuals, businesses, developers, and organizations across real estate development, property disputes, business contracts, corporate governance, zoning issues, land use planning, business formation, and regulatory compliance. His practice focuses on real estate law, land use, business law, and local government matters. Justin also provides counsel to businesses across a variety of industries, including agriculture, construction, and entrepreneurship, helping clients navigate complex legal challenges while pursuing practical, cost-effective solutions. When disputes arise, he is an experienced litigator who has successfully handled matters through jury trial and is prepared to advocate aggressively to protect his clients’ rights.
Professional Background
Prior to becoming an attorney, Justin built and successfully sold his own business, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities faced by business owners. This entrepreneurial background allows him to provide practical, business-minded legal guidance tailored to his clients’ goals. Justin graduated cum laude from law school and was an active member of his law school’s Mock Trial Team, competing in trial competitions for two years and developing the advocacy skills that continue to benefit his clients today. Throughout his legal career, he has represented both small and large clients in complex matters, combining strategic legal analysis with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes and strong value for those he serves.
Community and Personal Life
Justin is deeply committed to serving his community and actively contributes his time and leadership to several local organizations through service on multiple boards of directors. He strongly believes in giving back and helping to create opportunities that strengthen local communities and support future generations.
Outside the office, Justin enjoys spending time outdoors and is often found hiking, fishing, skiing, rafting, or camping. He and his wife of more than 20 years, have two children. One is currently pursuing an engineering degree at North Carolina State University, while the other is actively involved in high school athletics and travel sports. His dedication to family, community service, and the outdoors reflects the same values of commitment, integrity, and hard work that he brings to his legal practice.
