Area of Focus
Devin Thorpe focuses his practice on family law at King Law’s Raleigh office, representing individuals and families through some of the most sensitive and challenging periods of their lives. His work includes divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence matters. He is dedicated to providing clear guidance and strong advocacy while helping clients pursue outcomes that protect their rights and support long-term stability. His approach is both strategic and compassionate, with an emphasis on helping clients move forward with confidence.
Professional Background
Devin earned his undergraduate degrees from Mars Hill University, where he completed a double major in Religion & Philosophy and Criminal Justice. This interdisciplinary academic background strengthened his ability to think critically, evaluate complex human behavior, and understand the broader legal and ethical dimensions of the justice system. His academic excellence was recognized when he was named the outstanding graduate in both of his degree programs.
Following his undergraduate studies, Devin attended Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. During law school, he developed a strong foundation in client-centered advocacy and gained practical experience that prepared him for the demands of family law practice. He was particularly drawn to Campbell’s emphasis on professionalism, ethics, and service, values that continue to guide his work as an attorney today. Since joining King Law, Devin has continued to build his practice around thoughtful preparation, effective communication, and strong courtroom and negotiation skills.
Community and Personal Life
Devin resides in Graham, North Carolina, with his fiancé and their two dogs, Atlas and Cato. His home life plays an important role in keeping him grounded and balanced, providing time to recharge outside of his legal practice. He values his relationships with family and friends and considers them central to his overall well-being.
Outside of work, Devin enjoys reading, particularly in the areas of history, philosophy, and law. He also places a strong emphasis on physical fitness, regularly engaging in exercise such as weight training, running, and outdoor activity. He enjoys exploring North Carolina and spending time with his extended network of family and friends. Devin is proud to be part of King Law and is committed to serving clients with integrity, compassion, and excellence while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
