Biography

Area of Focus

Daniel H. Walsh (“Dan”) is an Associate Attorney with King Law Offices, based in the firm’s Asheville office and representing clients in family law and civil matters. He brings a strong litigation background, steady judgment, and a measured approach to advocacy, working closely with clients who are facing legally complex and emotionally charged situations and helping them understand their options and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Dan’s litigation background informs his work in family law matters, where legal strategy and personal considerations often intersect. He understands that clients seeking help with family law issues are often dealing with uncertainty, stress, and life-changing decisions, and he approaches these cases with a focus on thoughtful advocacy, clear communication, and practical problem-solving. He takes the time to understand each client’s goals and concerns and works to develop strategies that align with their circumstances. Dan believes that effective representation in family law requires both legal skill and respect for the people involved. While he is fully prepared to litigate when necessary, he also values resolution through negotiation when it serves the client’s best interests. His goal is to guide clients through the legal process with honesty, preparation, and steady support. At King Law, Dan is committed to building lasting relationships with clients based on trust, professionalism, and consistent communication.

Professional Background

Before joining King Law, Dan spent several years practicing civil litigation in Western North Carolina, focusing primarily on medical malpractice defense and other complex civil cases. In that role, Dan managed cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing and taking depositions, and arguing motions in court. He regularly advised clients on litigation strategy, potential outcomes, and risk management, often in high-stakes matters where careful analysis and clear communication were critical. That experience shaped Dan’s approach to the practice of law, and he carries those skills into every case he handles, whether negotiating a resolution or preparing for trial. His clients benefit from an attorney who is thorough, responsive, and focused on long-term solutions rather than unnecessary conflict.

Earlier in his career, Dan served as counsel in the majority of involuntary commitment hearings in Buncombe County for more than three years. In this capacity, he appeared frequently before the district court and worked closely with judges, court staff, medical professionals, and treatment providers. These cases involved serious legal and personal consequences, requiring sensitivity, efficiency, and a strong understanding of procedural law. That experience further reinforced Dan’s ability to remain composed under pressure and to approach difficult situations with professionalism and care.

Community and Personal Life

Outside of his legal practice, Dan values being part of the Asheville community and spending time with his family. He enjoys hiking in the mountains of Western North Carolina, writing, and photography.
